bell hooks – She is an American author, feminist, and social activist. Her writing has focused on the inter-connectivity of race, class, and gender and their ability to produce and perpetuate systems of oppression and domination. She has published over thirty books and numerous scholarly and mainstream articles, appeared in several documentary films and participated in various public lectures. Primarily through a postmodern perspective, hooks has addressed race, class, and gender in education, art, history, sexuality, mass media and feminism.
Naomi Klein – She’s a Canadian-American author and activist known for her political analyses and criticism of corporate globalization.
Audre Lorde – She was a Caribbean-American writer, poet and activist.
Michael Kimmel – He is an American sociologiost. His focus is pro-feminism. Kimmel is a spokesperson of NOMAS (The National Organization For Men Against Sexism).
Jackson Katz – He is an anti-domestic violence advocate. Katz is well known as one of the United States’ “leading gender violence prevention authorities” and “leading anti-sexist male activists”. He has been described as “an internationally recognized figure in the field of gender violence prevention.” In addition he has been called “one of the top anti-sexist male activists in North America.”
Kate Bornstein – Kate is a Jewish-American author, playwright, performance artist, and gender theorist. Bornstein is transsexual.
